This is What "Peace and Quiet" Looks Like

October is my FAVORITE month. The weather is cool, the leaves are changing, and I get to break out my boots (Yay!). October is also the busiest time of the year for photography, so if I don't intentionally block off a few days to get away, then my fave season is gone before I had a chance to enjoy it. So every year, I set aside one weekend in October for camping or a road trip to a B&B, or some other getaway in which I soak in the AWESOMENESS that is autumn.

This past weekend, I escaped into the country with some friends and rented the CUTEST cabin overlooking Mark Twain Lake. We hiked in the woods, hit up the fall festival in Hannibal, ate WAY more junk food than was necessary, played games by the fire, and sat on the porch watching the moon rise over the lake. To say that this was by far the most relaxing, peaceful weekend I have had in a long time would be an understatement. And for those of you who need a visualization of the phrase "Peace and Quiet," here it is:
