Class of 2011: Haleigh

This past week has been trying, to say the least. It started off with a bang when the hard drive I was working from decided to crash. Fortunately, I am the queen of back-up and nothing was lost other than a few days' worth of editing, which I will now have the pleasure of re-doing (note to self: change the Lightroom auto-backup from “weekly” to “daily”). The week got so much better when my 50mm lens took a nose-dive onto a concrete floor, rendering the auto-focus useless. Good times.

Needless to say, I was hoping for better luck this week. Then came my very first session of the week: a senior session with Haleigh and her mom Jean. I don’t often get the chance to do senior sessions, which is a shame since I LOVE them. I am used to the controlled chaos of herding bridal parties and children, but working with a client one-on-one is a nice, relaxing change of pace…just when I needed it most! Thanks to Haleigh and Jean, who are two of the coolest, nicest people you will meet, I also had a lot of fun (special props go to Jean, who toted an arm full of clothes around Main Street and even stepped in as my assistant!).

Isn't Haleigh just ADORABLE? When our session first began, she would dissolve into laughter the minute I said, “Now try a serious face.” She swore she couldn’t do serious. And yet, minutes later, she had it nailed. Seriously, how fierce is this?!?!:

And, the look that she is a total natural at - check out that beautiful smile:

This is what Jean termed the "Taylor Swift" look. Seriously, Haleigh could TOTALLY be on the cover of a country album:

The bubbles were Haleigh's idea - SO CUTE!

And one last "just for fun" shot:

Thanks, Haleigh and Jean, for brightening my day. I hope you had as much fun as I did!
